Corset Account
Corsets have been
attractive to both sexes for many hundreds
of years. The form and construction methods
have been able to be modernized similar to
the updating of the items and materials
used. If you are trying to develop the shape
you covet, you need to have an education of
the materials and items you can choose
from.
Body Shaping Corsets
The really old corsets are usually those
with the least amount of curves. Your breast
shape tends to be greatly flattened and provide
the appearance of a minimized breast profile.
To create this shape you are having to "fight"
the natural curves of most women’s bodies.
All About Busks, Lacing, and Boning
The design of a corset is dependent on two
underlying factors to be successful: a) the
type and material used in the boning, and b)
how tight you can snug up the lacing. To ensure
comfortable wear you can only tighten and lace
up to a point, the remainder of the
functionality is provided by the support
delivered by the boning.
A popular boning material is nylon coated
spring steel that is usually a lighter color
and is built in a wide variety of lengths,
widths, and thicknesses. When you are deciding
on the type of steel boning for the corset best
suited to you the width gives way to the
thickness in what is most important. You are
able to judge when the correct spring steel
boning is selected because it is very pliable
but it is difficult to bend.
There are also busks which open and are used
for the front of corsets to allow you to put
your corset on and off without help. The busks
first appeared in the 1860's and started with
the simplest busk, the more complicated spoon
busk was developed in the 1870's. Any of these
corsets can be found in our corset
superstore.
