A corset of high quality depends on two main
factors: a) the type of boning material used,
and b) the ability to pull together the lacing.

while wearing your corset you are capable of
lacing up only so much, the rest of the support
is provided by the boning.
Spring steel boning is nylon-coated steel
that is white in color and is manufactured in a
collection of widths, lengths, and thicknesses.
When you are looking to select steel boning for
your favorite corset style the thickness is of
primary importance. When the proper thickness
of steel boning is selected it is quite
flexible and it is extremely hard to bend.
You are able to also find busks that open
and are found on the front of corsets to allow
you to put on your corset and take off your
corset by yourself. The busk type fasteners
were invented around 1860 and allowed
construction with straight busks, today's spoon
busk was created more than a decade later. All
