Corset Account
Corsets have been
attractive to both women and men for
hundreds of years. Shapes and construction
techniques have varied. similar to the
updating of the items and materials used. If
you are trying to develop the shape you
covet, you need to have an education of the
materials and items you can choose from.
Body Shaping Corsets
The corsets from earlier times have usually
been those with minimal amounts of reshaping.
The breasts tend to be flattened and their
shape diminished. To attain this profile you
have to contain the natural shape and curves of
a woman's body.
Corset Fabrication With Busks and
Boning
The design of a corset is dependent on two
underlying factors to be successful: a) the
properties of the boning material, and b) how
much you can tighten the lacing. In order for
you to have a comfortable feeling while wearing
your corset you are capable of lacing up only
so much, you should rely on the boning material
to provide the rest of the structural
support.
A fine choice in boning is the use of spring
steel cased in nylon that typically is rendered
in a lighter color pallette and comes in a
group of thicknesses, widths, and lengths. When
you are looking to select steel boning for your
favorite corset style the thickness is of
primary importance. The steel boning
characteristic makes a perfect corset because
it is pliable and flexible, but it is nearly
impossible to bend them.
You can also use busk fasteners that open
and are typically used with the front of
corsets to enable you to get into and out of
your corset without help. These did not appear
until around 1860 and started with a straight
simple busk, the complications of the spoon
busk was developed around 1870. These items can
