The design of a corset is dependent on two underlying factors to be successful: a) the properties of the boning material, and b) the ability to pull together the lacing. One of the best boning materials is nylon covered steel that is pale white in color and is constructed in a wide variety of thicknesses, lengths, and widths. You are able to judge when the correct spring steel boning is selected because it is pliable and flexible, but it is nearly impossible to bend them.
