Corset Account
Corsets have been
attractive to both women and men for
hundreds of years. Shapes and construction
techniques have varied. similar to the
updating of the items and materials used. If
you are trying to develop the desirable
shape for you, you need to have an education
of the materials and items you can choose
from.
Body Shaping Corsets
The really old corsets have usually been
those with minimal amounts of reshaping. The
breast flesh appears to be significantly
pressed down and provide the appearance of a
minimized breast profile. To create this shape
you have to compress and reshape the natural
curves of most women’s bodies.
Boning, Busks and Other Corset
Techniques
A fabulous corset depends on two primary
factors: a) the type and material used in the
boning, and b) how tight you can snug up the
lacing. To ensure comfortable wear you are only
able to tighten the laces so much, the
remainder of the functionality is provided by
the support delivered by the boning.
One of the best boning materials is nylon
covered steel that is pale white in color and
is manufactured in a collection of widths,
lengths, and thicknesses. When you are deciding
on the type of steel boning for the corset best
suited to you the thickness gives way to the
width in importance. When the correct thickness
of spring steel is used it is flexible but it
is very hard to bend.
Busk front closures are sometimes used, they
open and are found on the front of corsets to
enable you to put on your corset without
assistance. The earliest busks were invented
around 1860 and began with the inclusion of a
simple busk, the more detailed spoon busk was
created ten years later. The entire collection
of thse corsets can be found in our online
auctions or superstore.
